BIOGRAPHY

I like to describe myself as “man of earth”. In order to give the proper meaning to this statement, I try to interpret my painting as a cultural sowing, sprayed, patiently and day after day, by the inexhaustible source of the rural tradition. The wordless story, given by the canvases, wants to provoke in the observer’s memory the pleasant resurgence of colors, smells and forgotten dreams, buried under the blanket of the time. Regardless of the age of those people who choose to understand one of my works, the result will not change. Everyone, through past experiences or simple stories of grandparents, will have a suitcase full of memories which will make them feel part of the world, visible in the colors.
The fundamental pivot of my artistic expression is the movement. I try to combine this feature with the technique and the feeling, avoiding to fall off in the obviousness, looking rather for the unusual and building on it my world of colors and life.
I do not like to curb my creativity and I want this note have always the right prominence in the paintings. Constant research and curiosity lead me to test new techniques; however, I don’t ignore the desire to portray a poetic concept.
The subject is no longer static and limited by the narrow boundaries of the frame, it becomes the real protagonist of the scene, revealing a sense of rebellion to the immobility which leads the character, by crossing stylistic boundaries, to volunteer to the audience with that stillness, calmness and a sense of simplicity that are typical of my art.
Not having gone to the Academy of Art, my basic artistic training is autodidactic. I’ve been increasing my artistic education by reading art books, visiting exhibitions and art galleries and keeping in practice independently.
I have improved the technique by following courses of drawing and painting from life model, under a well-known professional’s direction (in Treviso), staying anyway bound up with my personal pictorial language.
I have been present at the national artistic life for several years throughout Italy, obtaining personal achievements in different shows and competitions. I was a hit and a critical success in many group and one-man exhibitions. My works are still in public and private collections in Italy and abroad: Austria, England, Germany and France. My painting has been reviewed with articles in newspapers and magazines with a regional and national circulation, besides the interest shown by the independent television stations.
